Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the BJJ Base mobile application (“App”) operated by BJJ Base (“we”, “our”, or “us”). By using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Account Registration

To use BJJ Base, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Accept responsibility for all activity under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Subscriptions and Payments

Free Tier

BJJ Base offers a free tier with limited features. No payment is required.

Premium Subscriptions

Premium features are available through paid subscriptions:

• Monthly — recurring monthly subscription
• Yearly — recurring annual subscription
• Lifetime — one-time purchase for permanent access

Billing

All subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). By subscribing, you agree to the respective store’s terms of service:

• Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions
• Google Play Terms of Service

Cancellation and Refunds

• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device’s app store settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their respective refund policies
• Lifetime purchases are non-refundable except as required by applicable law

AI Features

BJJ Base includes AI-powered features, including voice recording transcription and technique extraction. You acknowledge that:

• AI transcription may not be 100% accurate — you should review and correct extracted techniques
• Voice recordings are sent to third-party AI services (OpenAI) for processing
• AI-generated suggestions are for informational purposes only and do not constitute professional advice
• We continuously work to improve AI accuracy but cannot guarantee specific results

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users’ data
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App’s infrastructure
• Upload malicious content or attempt to exploit vulnerabilities
• Use automated systems or bots to access the App
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the App

Your Content

Ownership

You retain ownership of all content you create in the App, including training notes, voice recordings, techniques, and gameplans.

License

By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content as necessary to provide the App’s services. This license terminates when you delete your account.

Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the content you create and share through the App.

Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by BJJ Base and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without our written permission.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

BJJ BASE IS A TRAINING JOURNAL TOOL. IT DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL, FITNESS, OR MARTIAL ARTS INSTRUCTION. ALWAYS CONSULT QUALIFIED INSTRUCTORS AND MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS REGARDING YOUR TRAINING.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BJJ BASE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BJJ Base from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination:

• Your right to use the App ceases immediately
• We may delete your data after a reasonable retention period
• Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution)

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Germany.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
